Ramon Moreno passed away peacefully on November 10, 2013 at Manor Care, Sunnyvale CA. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Aurora Moreno; his two brothers Prescliano Moreno, Tomas Moreno and his two sisters, Santos Zamora and Cipriana Moreno. He is survived by his sister, Enedina Trevino. Ramon is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ramon was born in Mexico to Tomas and Concepcion Moreno. He moved to Del Rio, Texas, as a child and lived there until he entered the Army. After his service in WWII he moved to the Santa Clara Valley where he lived the rest of his life. He was very patriotic and was proud to be a veteran. It was through his military service that he learned his trade. He built bridges in Europe. He was a carpenter and built homes in the Santa Clara Valley until his retirement. He was a member of the Carpenters Union. He was an avid reader and enjoyed keeping up with the world’s news. He always enjoyed a good discussion. He was a great storyteller and loved to entertain with stories of his life. He loved gardening and could grow anything. Ramon loved to share his secrets for growing beautiful flowers with all who visited. He kept the family supplied with lots of delicious fruit. Everyone loved the figs he so generously shared. He was a kind and generous man, always willing to help others. He touched many lives and each of us will remember our special moments with him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 5PM with Rosary at 7:30PM at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 10AM at St. Justin Parish, 2655 Homestead Rd., Santa Clara. Interment to follow in Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St., Santa Clara. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Manor Care for their special effort to help during this difficult time of his life. He always had a smile for everyone and will be missed.
