My deepest condolences to the Freitas family on Rich's passing.  I had the privilege of working with Rich for several years and the character, strength and grace he showed every day - no matter the circumstances - sets the bar for the rest of us.  Being around Rich made me a better person.

Letty my heart aches for you and the girls you lost someone very special in your life, i can't tell how very sorry we are thoughts and prayers our with you the girls and the rest of the family. He will be truly missed

My condolences to the Letty and all of the Freitas family. I had the privilege of working with Rich for several years.  Rich was an icon in the canning industry he helped many of us get our start, he will be sorely missed.

What a shock to see this.  Rich  and I went to college together, we drove the Unitrans double deck busses together.  Just four years ago we reconnected in Woodland and Rich helped my son get a summer job at Olam.  Will always remember your laugh and sense of humor.  RIP

we meet rich on April of 2005 when we became neighbors we live right across the street I all ways knew my home was safe with him around we are going to miss not seeing him in his mans cave aka garage great person great family man I had a hard time keeping up with him to keep my home nice like his all the time and also to see who would get the Christmas lights up first you are missed my friend from Rigo and Yolanda Torres

I am so deeply sadden by the loss of Richard. Our families were very close when we were growing up and I have so many wonderful childhood memories to hold on to. A life taken too soon, God must have bigger plans for him. Rest peacefully Richard. My heart goes out to all of you at this difficult time and I pray the days ahead will shine brighter  for all of you who loved him so much

I had the privilege of working with Rich for over 20 years and have learned so much from him during that time. May God Bless the Freitas Family during this very difficult time.

Rich was always proactive, positive thinking and a joy to be around during our times together in the canning industry. He will be missed. Our deepest condolences to his family.

Everyday that I felt like calling in I would remember Rich and how he persevered each day and I got up and got busy.

My deepest sympathy on the passing of Rich.  Got to know him from the Yolo Fliers Club and on the course.   But having been involved in the tomato business during my career we had many great conversations and knew a lot of people in common.

He will be missed.

To Letty Jenny Rachel BiBi and Don.. How my heart aches for you. I am so glad Richard had you guys at his side every step of the way from diagnosis to the end. The 5 of you were at his side constantly making sure he had everything he needed. I am so glad he had his immediate family at his side, I know it meant the world to him. He is no longer in pain but you are. I wish you healing as he would want you to smile and move forward. May you rest in Peace Richard Freitas and enjoy your Giants games from above.

Rich, the last email I sent you a couple months back you said we will talk soon...I miss you and was looking forward to that.  Our families had drifted apart years ago, but I always looked up to you and you were there for me when I needed you.  I wish I could have been there for you!  You will always stay in my heart and I know you are in a better place now, you can go golfing with Dad and Uncle Bill at the most heavenly course ever!  Punkie can catch you up on all the gossip in Heaven!  I know I will see you again and I keep that comfort in my heart!  I Love You Big Brother!!!

Rich....Loved you more than you could ever imagine.  As our big brother, you were our rock, and probably didn't even realize it.  We will forever miss you, but take comfort in knowing you're with our Lord.

We don't understand why you had to be taken from us so soon, but we will trust you Lord.
