Stanley Allen Kramer, affectionately known as "Stan the Man", passed away peacefully in Willow Glen, California, on July 3rd, 2024, at the age of 58. Born on November 17th, 1965, to Helmut and Elsa Kramer, Stan was the third of four siblings: Gary, Claudia, Stanley, and Brian. He is survived by his younger brother Brian, as well as an extensive network of friends and family members who cherished him.
Stan's parents, Helmut and Elsa, immigrated to the United States in the 1950s, where Helmut built a successful upholstery business with Delaney Brothers in the Bay Area. The Kramer family settled in Utah and later in Cupertino, California, forming deep roots in the local community and holding onto strong connections with their relatives across the Atlantic in Germany.
Stan inherited his family's spirit of entrepreneurship and craftsmanship, founding Kramer Construction in San Jose, California, 22 years ago. He was a licensed general contractor known for his meticulous attention to detail, the kind that brought a loving touch to every project. Specializing in construction work, home remodeling, and landscaping, Stan took particular pride in making homes accessible for the elderly and those with special needs, always ensuring comfort, dignity, and thoughtful solutions.
Stan was not just a talented craftsman; he was a devoted and empathetic listener who cared deeply for the needs of his clients and those around him. His dedication to quality craftsmanship earned him the title of "Handyman of the Year" in 2001, and his love for woodwork and creative projects reflected a lifelong passion for building and creating. As a child, Stan spent hours building go-carts, and in his earlier years, he loved the thrill of water skiing.
Cars were another passion of Stan's. He had a particular affinity for the 1967 Volkswagen Beetles and was proud to own three of them, along with two other VW bugs, ten other cars, trucks, and even a speedboat. This love of cars was a defining feature of his life, one that sparked joy and connected him with friends who shared his enthusiasm.
Throughout his life, Stan was a true friend, known for his big heart and unwavering kindness. He was the type of person who helped without being asked, always seeing the best in people. Stan had a unique ability to listen deeply and with empathy, and often provided the kind of understanding that could bring comfort to those in need. His circle of friends was vast, and he treasured the bonds he formed, continually holding onto the great memories of the past and celebrating the good times.
Stan shared a strong faith in Jesus Christ and believed in eternal life, which provided comfort to his family and friends. He was confident in a reunion filled with love and togetherness, one that would see all his loved ones together again.
A burial service and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, beginning at 10:30 AM at Los Gatos Memorial Park. Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of Stan's life, which will continue at the Laughing Monk Brewery afterward at 12:30 PM. This gathering will be a chance to honor the incredible man that Stan was—to remember his big heart, his craftsmanship, and the lasting impact he left on everyone who knew him.
Stan will be remembered as a beloved brother, a devoted craftsman, and a true friend whose memory will live on in the countless lives he touched.
