Wanted to let the Thode family know that when I was in church yesterday, I lit a candle for Tom and the rest of the Thode family.  You all are so in my thoughts.

I heard via Debbie Gioiosa that Tom had passed in January.  Breaks my heart when I see how handsome he was in his Navy Uniform.  
Rosemary, I remember you ironing that uniform when I was quite small and that you used scotch tape to make sure all the lint was off.  Please allow me extend my condolences to all of you and know that I think of all of you fondly and with loving memories.  Will keep you all in my prayers. Barbara Kimmy

He was always a gentleman and a wonderful classroom teacher. He really cared about students.

Professor Thode was a highly respected educator by his students and colleagues at Mission College.  Even though he taught challenging courses, he always made himself available to help his students and encourage them to do their best work. Although Tom has left this world behind, his legacy lives on through the thousands of students that he taught so well with his immense wisdom, and the caring guidance that he selflessly provided to so many.

Tom was one of finest instructors I had the privilege and honor of working with during my 28 years at West Valley College. As part of the Founding faculty in 1964, he will be greatly missed.

The fondest of memories for Mr. Thode. His middle daughter, Laura, was my best friend from kindergarten through high school. My deepest condolences to Laura, Lynn, Kathleen and of course Rosemary


Our deepest sympathies for your loss. Tom and I got along extremely well as colleagues at West Valley College. He was a dedicated teacher and an all around great guy. We will keep him in our prayers.
