Vanda Teresa Zilli Howorth "Wanda"

Vanda (Wanda) Teresa Zilli Howorth has entered into eternal life and has joined her husband, Eric Howorth, who preceded her in death in 1977. She was born and raised in Colloredo di Prato in beautiful northern Italy, and where she also married her husband. After their marriage, they moved to England where they lived until immigrating to the United States in 1951. Wanda was a humble, loving, and giving person, always ready to volunteer for and spend time with her family, which was her world. She was greatly loved by her family and will be sorely missed. Wanda was a talented artist, painting in oils and acrylics. She was also accomplished at knitting, crocheting, and sewing. When her daughter, Valerie, was a singer in the Junior Choir at Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, Wanda sewed the surplices for all of the girls in the choir. Those same surplices have been worn by her grandchildren when serving as acolytes at the church. Wanda enjoyed attending sporting and theatrical events of her grandchildren, Eric and Fiona, whom she adored greatly. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and she was so very proud of them. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Sebastiano and Mirra Zilli. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Alessandra Peressini, Luigia Giacomini, and Luigi (Titti) Zilli. Wanda was a Roman Catholic; however, she was a member of Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church in Santa Clara for about 50 years. Wanda is survived by her daughter, Valerie Pestana, son-in-law, Harold Pestana, and her two grandchildren, Eric and Fiona Pestana. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 5-9PM with Rosary at 6PM at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara. A private funeral will be held on April 25th. All are welcome to attend a Memorial Service which is going to be held on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at 2:00pm at St. Mark's Episcopal Church at 1957 Pruneridge Avenue, Santa Clara, CA 95050 (408) 296-8383. There will be a reception following the Memorial Service at the Parish Hall near Winchester Blvd.
