Betty Louise Mercer

Mercer, Betty Louise May 8, 1923 - July 12, 2012 Betty was born in Los Angeles and raised in Glendale, CA. She graduated from Glendale High School and married her high school sweetheart, Jim Mercer, in 1941. They raised four children in Glendale, Lynwood, and Van Nuys before moving to Marina del Rey in 1971. Most recently she resided at Sunrise Assisted Living in Pacific Palisades. Betty passed away at UCLA/Westwood Hospital after a wonderful life lived with joy and grace. She was predeceased by her son Billy in 1964 and her husband Jim in 1994. Her survivors include her children: Jim Jr. (Diane), Tom (Ann), and Michele (Mark); her grandchildren: Jamie (Shanon), Julie (Mike), Kris (Luis), Lindsey, Aubrey (Brian), Taylor (Russ), Billy (Manami), and Mark; and her great-grandchildren: Jaron, Logan, Annabelle, Julie Ann, and Jason. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 28th in the Little Chapel of the Dawn at Gates, Kingsley, Gates in Santa Monica.
