

Chris was born in Los Angeles to Joseph Simpson and Marybeth Fyle Simpson on April 28,1940. After she graduated from Marlborough in 1957 she was a Las Madrinas debutante, and she then attended Michigan State University before returning to Los Angeles. Chris graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mount St. Mary’s College School of Nursing in 1976, received her RN that same year, and later received her B.S. from Chapman University.
Chris fulfilled many professional and volunteer passions. In the late 1960’s she was President of the Anne Banning Auxiliary of the Assistance League of Los Angeles. She enjoyed many golf related roles including Chairwoman of the Los Angeles Country Club Women’s Auxiliary where she was winner of the President’s Cup; many roles with the Southern California Women’s Golf Association; as a medical study team member through the westside VA Hospital in collaboration with Kaiser Sunset; working with the Nature of Wildworks in Malibu, and most recently as a certified therapy dog team participant with her beloved Sheltie, Raven, at the westside VA Hospital, St. John’s Hospital, and UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center.
Chris had many stories of riding her horses through the hills of Mandeville and Kenter Canyons in the 1950s. She showed her horses and received awards and ribbons in the Western Pleasure and Trail Horse classes in the Santa Ynez Valley. While growing up she split her time living in Beverly Hills, Mandeville Canyon, and at Folded Hills Ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley where she said her soul was. Toward the end of her life she enjoyed watching polo matches at Folded Hills Ranch and in Carpinteria.
She was married to Peter Koenig in 1962 and to Richard Lee Triplett II in 1967. In 1976 Chris married Dr. Alfred Conti who passed away in 2007. His children survive her; Ron Conti (Linda) of Florida, Linda Conti of Newport Beach, and Kacey Conti Davis (Doug) of Missouri. In 2011 she met Tom Maudlin, her partner of 12 years. They enjoyed many social activities including golf at the Los Angeles Country Club and time in the Santa Ynez Valley. Chris is survived by her daughter Victoria “Tori” Simpson of Arizona, her son Richard Lee “Trey” Triplett III (Kathy) of Nevada, and granddaughters Morgan Arroyo of Los Angeles and Hope Triplett of Nevada. Chris is also survived by half-brother Tom Simpson (Lili) of La Canada/Flintridge, half-sisters Margot Weber of New Mexico, Marybeth Weber Chapman (Don) of Laguna Beach, and Caroline Weber Pyne (Kevin) of New Zealand. Her stepbrother Roland Weber (Debbie) of Palos Verdes also passed on the same day. Chris leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and both local and international friends and classmates from her extensive global travels.
