Dear Nanette!    We met first right after you came to Los Angeles  - maybe 1960. You, Armando, my husband Boris and I had so many good times together. I shall always remember those years with fondness,  You were our beast friends - such good years,  I shall always remember you, Nanette Once  you and your dear mother visited us brieflly  in Oslo.

As I sat down to write my Christmas cards (something Nanette and both used to do when we worked together on production crews) I realized I'd not spoken to her in a few years.  I decided to search her on-line and see if she'd recently worked on another movie and sadly, I then stumbled upon this obituary.  I only wish I'd sent a holiday card at Hallowe'en or last spring.  This woman was one of the most gentle, funny, quality ladies I'd ever met amongst all the vast and varied number of film folk I've known over the years.  Having tea at Nanette's beautiful place and hearing her stories, where we would share our love of felines and the adventure of life, live strongly in my memories. She was the aunt I wished I had.  I only hope that she passed peacefully.  Her spirit was so magnetic and rare.  I have no doubt Nanette has been welcomed heartily in the other realms, for anyone, divine or otherwise, would be happy to have her in their midst.  I'm sending my holiday greeting to her there.

Nanette was a very loving and devoted daughter and niece to her mum and aunt when they were alive and she never missed a year of visiting them in London and having them visit her in Los Angeles.   She always made her family and friends more important than her work and herself.   Truly someone to look up to and emulate.   Let us not forget the royal life her cats, both tame and feral, received from her kind hands.   I shall miss our teas together when we endeavoured to sort out the world.   God Bless You Nanette.   With much love to a close friend and constant mentor.

I've known Nanette since the day I was born. But, I really got to know Nanette sixteen years ago. That was the day we both lost my mother. She was there for me immediately. She took care of everything without a second of hesitation.  She was that kind of friend, always there.  She had one of the most positive outlooks on life I had ever seen. Even when life hit her with obstacles she always looked to the bright side of things, she never dwelled on anything.  Her robust “Hello, it's me” on the other end of the phone always put a smile on my face.  Talking with Nan was always one of those easy, effortless calls…she had a way of making you feel like you were sitting there having a cup of tea in her living room, albeit sometimes a very long cup of tea.  Nothing was ever too much trouble or not convenient. I don't remember a time where she wasn't just there because I needed something. That is a really rare quality in people these days.  I was doubly blessed by Nanette. She helped keep the memory of my mother alive. But, at the same time, she truly became my friend as well.  Fondly, Lee

As the mother of Jennifer Blair, I have always hoped she would become friends with "the right people" during her journey through life -- individuals she could love and respect who would enable her to continue learning and growing, to gain new skills and sharpen old ones, to increase her self-confidence and provide the sort of steady, enduring loyalty and affection all human beings require.  Nanette was a gift from God. If someday I am fortunate enough to meet her in a Brighter Place, I shall hug her warmly and thank her for all she has done for our daughter. Love is contagious, and it never dies. May all of her loved ones continue to be blessed and comforted with fond memories of an extraordinary lady.
