Winnie was an 8th generation Californian and descendant of the Ortega and Fellom pioneer families. A lifelong resident of LA county, Winnie graduated from Santa Monica High School, then Occidental College where she studied education. Winnie taught kindergarten for many years.
Her passions included traveling (especially the many pilgrimages she made with fellow parishioners from St. Monica’s), playing bridge, hosting dinner parties, and celebrating special occasions and holidays with close friends.
She will be remembered for her generosity, kindness and bright smile.
Visitation will start at 2:30pm on October 13th at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village with rosary service at 3:30pm.
Funeral mass will take place at 10am on October 14 at St. Monica’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
