Deloris Sue Boyd went home to be with Jesus on April 1, 2014. Deloris, age 81, was born in Arkansas but spent the majority of her life in Santa Paula, California. She was born August 26, 1932 to Lois Woods Bohannan and Doyle Bohannan. On July 10, 1950, Deloris married the love of her life, William Elton Boyd and they were faithfully married for 64 years. She worked at several local packing houses, but her true delight was her years as a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She took great joy in visits from her family and when you were leaving she always wanted you to stay a little longer or would ask when you were coming again. She also enjoyed needlework and baking. She was a member of Life Way Baptist Church in Santa Paula, California. Deloris was preceded in death by their first born son. Deloris is survived by her husband William Boyd of Santa Paula; her sons Bill Boyd (wife Jeannine) Ventura, and Jim Boyd (wife Diana) Ventura; and sister-in-law Euna Mayben of Woodlake, California. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Mark, Jeff and Michelle Boyd; Stephanie Whitney (husband Joel); and Carolyn Boyd; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A public viewing will be held from 10 am to noon on Monday, April 7, 2014, at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, 738 E. Santa Paula Street, Santa Paula. Bill and family,

Germerial and I became a part of the family when our children married. You and Deloris have been dear to our hearts and we have held you in prayer through the years. We enjoyed our times together at Thanksgivings, birthdays and other family celebrations.

We pray The Lord will be of great comfort to you at this time. We also celebrate, knowing Deloris is with her Savior, Jesus Christ. We will be united again one day.

God bless each of you and help to fill the void with His presence. Our love and prayers.
