Dixie Compton Brown of Ventura passed away September 19 peacefully in her sleep. Born in Macon, Georgia on January 15, 1925, to parents Arthur Sylvester Compton and Edna Wood Compton. Dixie was a resident of Ventura since 1949, coming from Hawaii where she met and married her husband Morris. She retired in 1980 from NCBC, Port Hueneme after a 38-year career in government accounting. Proceeded in death by her husband J.M. Brown, parents, sisters Frances Bush and Joyce Compton, and brother Griffin. Survived by her sister-in-law Charlotte, nieces Terri, Susie, Linda (Cliff), Heidi (Greg) and nephew, David Bush (Linda), many great nieces and nephews, and her dear friend Norman Hammer.
