I met JB at P-1. As we became friends I found he always had kind words to share. He loved the excitement of going on adventures! I am so glad that I got to see him in Santa Barbara last October! Look for Hugh... maybe you can ride elephants again! My prayers go out to your family.

I only met John a few years back at our poker group at Rancho Santa Paula, he was a very bright, kind and fun guy to be around. It was obvious immediatly how much his family meant to him, he seldom missed playing with us except when family needed him. I enjoyed listening to him about his travels, but he never bragged about his experiences, and was always a good listener when you shared your experiences. I can't officially speak for all of our poker group, but we were all in shock when we heard of John's passing and it was a very sober group, we all had good memories of John's kindness and good positive encouragement when we made mistakes at the poker table. What a neat guy, we miss him. God bless those of you who are greiving now at his passing.

We Will Miss you Johnny

Johnny you are so missed. I've never had a finer cousin both when young and grown. Linda, the girls and I shall miss the wonderful fellowship when we were able to gather together. No one in the world made mashed potatoes as good as Johnny did. I'm sure Grandad Bailey and Dad had the oven on waiting for you.
Johnny was one of the kindest, most generous, and gentle persons I have ever known. LOL he had a temper also, but kept it under control, unlike myself.
Johnny inherited the best traits of his Mother, and his Father and was a lot like Grandad Bailey. A better combo could never be achieved.
Our deepest condolances to all of the Bailey Family, especially Uncle John and Aunt Naomi, on the loss of our beloved Cousin.

What a wonderful neighbor and person. Loved his sense of humor, quiet, unassuming, and clever, never depreciating anyone nor ever an unkind word. Deepest heartfelt condolences to his lovely family.

John and I met online in 2006 through Semester at Sea blogs and began a friendship by almost-daily email exchanges that lasted five years. Each of us had sailed around the world with what was then World Campus Afloat. We were on different voyages and never met in person. Through the blogs, we were able to enjoy all over again our adventures in various ports that the then-current Semester at Sea students were visiting. It was a lot of fun sharing my shipboard adventures with John and hearing about his as well.
In his emails, John wrote often about his extended family and how much they meant to him. He especially enjoyed the family birthday celebrations each month and told me how he loved to cook for everyone. He even shared some of his favorite recipes with me.
I will miss hearing from him. I do already. I offer my sincere condolences to John's family and friends.

A better friend one could not have. So many years, so many memories. "Clams on a half shell au graten" dear Johnny. Women blow and men blunder.....
Never let the odds keep you from doing what you know in your heart you were meant to do."
My sincere condolences to your family. Steve and Jan, I have you in my heart.

A great guy has gone from our sight but we'll see him again!
I am one of the B.U.G.G. family (Bailey, Ulmer, Graham and Graham) We all shared a House on Chrisman....there was never a more generous and kind human being! Many great memories....the Flannel Shirt Gang (Flannel Shirts worn by one and all when we went to a dinner and movies).......sometimes the shirts were refered to as Warmular Structures.....he had his own language sometimes and I enjoyed trying to figure it out!
God Bless your family right now and I know if I have all these great memories I know you all have even more to keep him with you!
Hugs, Judi Ulmer

JB - I'll never forget the Benchwarmer weekend events and how I looked forward to dancing with you. Although Billy and I hadn't seen you for a while, you were never forgotten. We'll miss you. God Bless.
