

He was born on May 29, 1927 in Valencianita, Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico.
He came to Santa Paula in 1953 and worked for Limoneira Company for 43 years until his retirement in 1997 at the age of 70.
Our Dad was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, father-in-law, uncle, and friend. He was a man of great Catholic faith. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.
He is preceded by his parents Joaquin and Concepcion Garcia, brothers Jesus and Sabino, sister Carmen, grandson Roman, and great granddaughter Olivianna.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ruth J. Garcia. Together they dedicated their lives to their nine children, Ruth Hernandez (Leo), Mercy Gomez (Felix), Angie Perez (Javier), Concepsion Chavez (Arnoldo), Joaquin Garcia (Rosalie), Graciela Salazar (Gabriel), Consuelo Iglesias (Jorge), Josie Rico (Elias), and Mary Campos (Miguel). The family grew to include 32 grandchildren, their spouses and 30 great grandchildren, who all lovingly called him Tata.
The viewing will take place on Thursday, February 19th, 2015 from 1:00-5:30 p.m. at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary followed by the rosary at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 7:00 p.m. The mass will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church located at 427 N. Oak Street in Santa Paula. Internment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Santa Paula Cemetery. Services entrusted to Skillin-Carroll Mortuary. 805-525-3391.
