Pedro Muniz

Pedro Muniz, 85 of Apple Valley, California passed away Sunday September 25, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maria, daughter Nina (Don) Zermeno, sons Pete, Rey and Jessie (Doris) Muniz, brothers Santos (Ester) Guerrero, Samuel, Jose (Lidia) Sustiata, John Sustiata, sisters Estela, Elva, Pilar Coronado and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Pedro was born in Donna Texas, the son of Lupe Guerrero Erminia (Muniz). His early years were spent following that years crop with his family. He later moved to California as a young man where he met his wife Maria at a local dance. They married in Reno Nevada on January 5, 1953.

Pedro held several different jobs over his life time, all punctuated by his strong work ethic instilled in him in during his formative years. From agricultural labor in northern California down to Ventura county at Limonera, Ortiz trucking and later to golf grounds keeper at Port Hueneme.

He enjoyed playing baseball with the Men's Saticoy Village League and throughout his life he was an avid gardener.

A Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM October 6, 2016 at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, 738 East Santa Paula Street, Santa Paula, California. The funeral mass will be held the following day October 7, 2016 at 10:00AM at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Church, 427 North Oak Street, Santa Paula, California 93060 and the Graveside Service to follow at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery, 380 Cemetery Road, Santa Paula, California 93060.
