She was born on January 11, 1937 to Gertrude and Ira Akreon Walley in Greene County Mississippi.
Carolyn graduated from Sand Hill High School before moving to Mobile Alabama and meeting the love of her life, George Nikolakis.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Helen Carol Nikolakis Griffin. Her parents, her sister Virginia Lois Walley Abramhamson, her brothers Jimmie Wilson Walley and Bradford Dane Walley.
Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years,George Mike Nikolakis. Her children Michael George Nikolakis (Martha) and Diane Elizabeth Nikolakis Palamoytis (Eleftherios). Grandchildren George Michael Nikolakis, Christopher Wren Griffin, Jeffery Austin Griffin, Jeremy Ryan Griffin, Derrick Wesley Griffin (Stacey) Zachary Lamar Nikolakis (Nicky) , Violet Caroline Anna Palamoytis, Myra Palamoytis Robertson, Georghia Palamoytis Kelly (Brett), K. Hope Godbold (Scott) Leigh Andrea Jenkins, brother Charles Wesley Walley and son in law David Wren Griffin (Marilyn). Also Andrew Bunch and Steven Siwek who mother considered her adopted boys.

Many beloved nieces , nephews and special family friends.
Carolyn was a expert seamstress, an avid gardener and an excellent cook. In her late 80s she took on the task to complete a personalized quilt for her grandchildren. She completed 7 works of art and during her recent illness she spoked of continuing her quilting.
Momma, Grandma, Granny, Yia-Yia, Carolyn answered to all of them with the love and devotion she had for her family. She acted as the family photographer and babysitter. She was a true Christian Servant who lived her faith.
She was an international traveler who enjoyed several overseas trips. With George she traveled extensively throughout the US by car, plane, train and ship. One of her favorite places to visit was the Great Smokey Mountains.
The family would like to thank the care givers, nurses and doctors who provided comfort during Carolyn’s hospitalization and rehab. They will never know how much they were appreciated.
Carolyn will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
