Charlie F. Henry, Sr., 80, of Wilmer, AL, passed away peacefully in his home on September 27, 2026, with family at his bedside. He was born November 22, 1945, to Charlie E. and Lucille K. Henry. He was the fourth of eight children.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters, two nephews, and a beloved step-grandson.
During his lifetime, Charlie had several places of employment. He held positions at Courtaulds, Jeffrey Steele Company, and Southeastern Wire, and he eventually retired from the City of Chickasaw.
In his younger years, he loved to go fishing, and he also did roofing work. He enjoyed remote-control cars and being outside every chance he got.
Charlie is survived by his children, Charlie F. Henry, Jr. (Kay), Tina Wooten (Robert), and Brittney Murren (Ricky); his siblings, Peggy Coe, Fennie Janes, Delores Orso (Earnest), and Catherine Bowen (Henry); his grandsons, Cameron and Hunter Wooten, and Landon, Liam, and Levi Murren; three step-grandchildren, John Wooten (Amanda), Kimberly Griffin (Adam), and Shelby Patrick (Cory); along with several nieces, nephews, and step-great-grandchildren.
Pastor Cornelius Phillips will be officiating services.
Pallbearers will be Robert Wooten, Cameron Wooten, Shane Rowell, Earnest Orso, Billy Saranthus, and Matt Henderson. Honorary pallbearers are Lonnie Wright and Tommy Williams.
The family would like to give special thanks to Saad Hospice nurse Cheryl, aide Carol and Chaplin Greg.
