

He was born on February 7, 1950 in Prichard, AL to Cecil and Amelia Jernigan. Charlie was a graduate of Vigor High School class of 1969 and was a member of the National Guard and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He retired from Sappi, formally Scott Paper Company after 29 years.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Amelia Jernigan and brother Toby Jernigan.
Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Jernigan of 50 years and three children; Miranda McDaniel (Clay), Chad Jernigan (Erin) and Crystal Tindle. He had 7 grandchildren; Morgan McDaniel, Dylan Chastang, Madison Jernigan, Brodie Tindle, Macy Jernigan, Maddox Jernigan and Bennett Tindle.
He is also survived by three loving sisters, Betty Gornowicz (Leo), Sue Granade (Sammy) and Linda Summers (Eddie). He also had two sister-in-laws; Janice Sullivan (Billy) and Linda Jemison and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charlie was an avid Alabama fan, among all college football, enjoyed traveling to the Smokey mountains in Tennessee and enjoyed going to NASCAR races.
Visitations will be Saturday, May 30th at 12:00pm at Celebration Church located at 10 Saraland Blvd. South, Saraland, AL 36571 and funeral to follow at 2:00 pm officiated by Brother Wes Hall with graveside service to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
