Elijah Cameron Miller

Elijah “Eli” Cameron Miller, born July 18, 2013, left this earthly life on July 5, 2026, and entered the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ, beginning his eternal life in Heaven. He is most definitely walking those streets of gold, barefoot of course, because well Eli never really cared much for wearing shoes.

Eli loved the outdoors and spent countless hours exploring the woods, wading through creeks, and finding joy in God’s creation. He loved attending Crawford Baptist Church and often invited his friends to come with him. While Eli worshiped inside, his faithful dog, Buddy, would patiently wait outside for him so they could walk home after church was over.

Eli saw the world a little differently. He was free-spirited, adventurous, energetic, and full of life. Those who truly knew him knew the depth of his kind heart, his genuine love for others, and the quiet compassion he carried deep within him. Though he was often misunderstood, he left an unmistakable mark in the world and in the lives of those lucky enough to know and love him.

Eli cherished every opportunity to spend time with his older brother and sister-in-law, Mason and Kindred, his beloved nephew and niece, Foster and Juniper, and his best friend, Tucker. He and his mother, Mindy, shared countless adventures together hiking, playing disc golf, and exploring Chickasabogue Creek—memories that will forever be treasured.

Even in his passing, Eli’s generous spirit continues through the gift of organ donation, offering hope and the opportunity for new life to others. His final act of selfless love reflects once again the goodness of his heart.

Eli was preceded in death by his father, William McCorquodale, maternal grandfather, Randy “Paw-Paw” Knapp, maternal step-grandfather, Tom “Poppy” Miller. Eli is survived by his devoted mother, Mindy McWhirter, brother, Mason (Kindred) Johnson, maternal grandmother, Tammy Miller, uncle, Randall Knapp, nieces and nephews, Foster and Juniper, his beloved and eternal sidekicks his two dogs, Buddy & The Big Black Dog, many other family members and friends.

Throughout this time of need we would like to recognize a few special people whose love, compassion, and support brought comfort and strength to our family during this difficult time, the members of Crawford Baptist Church, the staff of Children’s and Women’s Hospital, great uncle Jeffrey Knapp, special cousin, Corey Biggs, and aunt Shanda and Uncle Jason Bunch.

Though Eli’s absence leaves an ache that words cannot heal and questions that may never be answered this side of Heaven, we cling to the hope found in Jesus Christ. Just as Buddy faithfully waited outside the church doors for Eli to return, we now wait with hope for the day our Savior calls us home, where every tear will be wiped away and we will be joyfully reunited with those who have gone before us. Until that day, Eli will remain forever loved, forever missed, and forever held in our hearts.

Services will be held Friday, July 10 at Crawford Baptist Church. Family will receive visitors at 11:00AM, service begins at 12:00PM. Interment will immediately follow in Malcolm Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his maternal grandfather.
