With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald Jackson Andrews, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, who left this world surrounded by the love of his family on March 20,2026.
Born on April 7, 1945, Gerald was a strong, steady presence—a man known for his toughness, his quiet strength, and the way he showed love not always in words, but in the way he worked, provided, and stood by those he loved. He was the kind of man you could count on, no matter what.
In his later years, he faced the challenges of dementia with the same resilience that defined his life. Though the disease may have taken pieces of his memory, it never took the love he gave or the impact he made on his family.
He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his strong spirit, and the legacy he leaves behind in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Nall Andrews. The legacy that they leave behind is their family. They are survived by their sons Michael (Jill), Jason (Kimberly) and Todd (Ashley) as well as their grandchildren Reagan (Walker),Cameron, Hayden, Cade and Tucker Andrews, Braxton and Bre Hughes, Griffin (Baylee) Baxter, great grandchildren Ripp and Trigg Johnson and Brylynn Baxter.
He is also survived by his sister, Karen (Skipper) Tate, Cory (Rachel), Courtney and Kristen Tate.
Gerald is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Nall Andrews and parents, Grover Jackson and Maxine Kirkham Andrews.
Gerald served in the United States Army Reserves. He also served 30 years in the Sprinkler Fitters Union 669.
Gerald was well known for his influence on the youth of Satsuma in coaching football and baseball for the Satsuma Youth Association for over 20 years.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing he is now at peace—restored, whole, and free.
A celebration of his life will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Saraland on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 6 pm until 8 pm. Graveside service will be Tuesday, March 24, at 9 am at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
