James Benjamin Neely

James Benjamin Neeley a lifetime resident of the Mobile area passed away at his home on March 20, 2016. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin to many. Mr. Neeley was a master carpenter, was a great artist, guitarist and loved to collect Civil War Memorabilia. He was a member of River of Life Church. He is preceded in death by his mother, Grace Hitchcock. Mr. Neeley is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Sheila Neeley; three children, Jamie (Paul) Scarbrough, Jonathan (Jill) Neeley and Clay (Maribel) Heathcoe; his father, George Neeley; three sisters, Cindy, Sherry and Angie; seven grandchildren, Brittney, Blake, Allie, Will, Nathan, Caroline and Kathryn Claire; one great granddaughter, Kori; many other family members and friends who knew him as “James Myers”. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 11:00 until the funeral service time at 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
