

Junior Richard Sikes a native of Choctaw County Alabama and resident of Saraland Alabama, passed away to his eternal heavenly home on May 17, 2026 at the age of 86. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Sandra Williams Sikes, brother Jackie Sikes, nephew Dean Sikes and Grand niece Lauren J Sikes all of Saraland.Teresa Ann Simpson of Axis, Donna Lynn Davis and husband Todd of Mobile, Michael Curtis Ezell and wife Dawn of Mobile, which are the three children of his beloved first cousin Curtis Ezell.He was preceded in death by his parents Olive Laura Clifton and Elwood Lamar Clifton, brother Horace Amos Sikes, Clarence Sikes, Prentiss Sikes and sister Vera Inez Fleetwood.Richard attend Vigor High School in Prichard Alabama where he enjoyed sports, line and square dancing. Richard was drafted by John F Kennedy to serve in the Army. He was trained to fight in the Vietnam War at Fort Benning in Georgia. First chance he got leave he would hitchhike home to visit his wife Sandra as they could barely stand to be parted. When he made it back home to Sandra and there dog Butch both could hardly recognize him as lost much weight from the intense Army Training. By Gods grace Richard did not deploy to Vietnam as many never return home. He then served two years in the Army reserves then after getting a Honorable discharge.Richard worked at Union Carbide which became UOP for 26 years till he retirement.Richard was a former member of North Mobile Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher. He was a devoted and active member of Shelton Beach Road Baptist Church where he served as a trustee. Richard loved spending time with his wife Sandra at there Summer house in Maggie Valley which is part of the Great Smoky Mountains. Richard loved his Alabama Crimson Tide Football Team.Must of all Richard loved Jesus, his wife Sandra, Country and his family and friends.
