Ouida Slay Stringer

Ouida Slay Stringer, 54, a native of Chickasaw, Alabama and a resident of Wilmer, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020 in Mobile. She was born on April 11, 1966 to James and Peggy Slay. Ouida is a graduate of Vigor High School, and was a member of the Chickasaw community for many years.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Slay, and grandparents, Grandpa and Grandma Furgison. Ouida is survived by her husband of 25 years, Herman Wesley Stringer; mother, Peggy Slay; children: Brandon (Kelli) Slay, Kayla (Anthony) Byrd, Anthony Cole Burgum and Thomas Joseph Burgum; grandchildren: Joseph Slay, Samantha Slay, Alexander James Byrd, Adalynn Rose Byrd, and Gavan Prince; and sister, Yvonne Kelly. Ouida was loved by so many people. Her heart was large enough to except everyone for who they are. No matter how far she goes from us, she will always be cherished and loved.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 13, 2020 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 9700 Celeste Road Saraland, Alabama. The family will be accepting friends Monday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
