Rita "Kathy" Katherine Phillips Cost

Kathy was a loving mother and a devout Christian. She was a member of Creola First Baptist Church for 25 years. Kathy was a talented writer who was deeply empathetic to people and animals. She rescued more animals than can be remembered.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Millie Phillips, and her brother Freddie Phillips.

Kathy is survived by her children Shawn and Tommy Cost; grandchildren Logan, Emma Claire, Noah, and Jacob Cost; daughter-in-laws Shannon and Lene Cost; siblings Betty Pullen, Shirley Boykin, Donna Myers, Janet Davis, and Clyde Phillips.

Visitation and funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, located at 9700 Celeste Rd, Saraland, Alabama 36571. Visitation will be from 11:00 - 1:00, followed directly by the funeral and graveside services.
