Sarah Dee Henton Bryant

Sarah Dee Henton Bryant, age ninety-seven, of Saraland, Alabama passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at her home surrounded by family. Born January 22, 1929 in Stratton, Mississippi to George Powell Henton Sr. and Lois Rivers Henton, Dee was the only daughter born to George and Lois and had four brothers, George Jr., Milton, Jim, and Sanford (Bud). She was delivered by her grandfather Dr. S.B. Henton. Her grandmother Florence Ella Henton happened to be at an Eastern Star meeting so Dee’s birth was included in the minutes of the meeting.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, husband James H. Bryant, and two grandchildren, Stephen Daniel Browning and Lara Marie Anderson.

Dee is survived by her three daughters, Gail Bryant (Eric) Yance, Cindy Bryant Godwin, and Dee Ann Bryant (Ronnie) Reynolds; grandchildren Jennifer Anderson Martin (Robert) and Jim Bryant Browning; great grandchildren Brad (Tiffany) Andrews, Alex Andrews, Emily Martin, Chloe Browning, Casey Browning, Hunter Browning, Bryant (Katie) Browning; great great grandchildren Kylie, Ella Kate and Corbin Andrews; J.R., Boston, Bronx, and Kaomi Browning; beloved nephews and many more family and friends.

She loved being outdoors and spent many hours working in her yard, which gave her so much joy and fulfillment. She was skilled at sewing and made many of her girls’ clothes while they were growing up.

She stayed active, walking in her neighborhood and going to exercise classes at the senior center into her nineties. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed having her family around. She was blessed with sweet neighbors who loved and watched out for her. She loved her church and always looked forward to the monthly senior gatherings. Above all, she loved the Lord and looked forward to meeting Him face to face.
