Silas Don Pope

Silas Don Pope, age 72, a longtime resident of Saraland, Alabama, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 13, 2025.Don was a proud retiree of Scott Paper, where he worked diligently for 29 years. Known for his kind spirit and quick wit, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time at the bowling alley, challenging others to a game of chess, collecting guitars, playing music, and cheering on Alabama football.He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his father, Silas Joe Pope (100 years old); his loving wife of 40 years, Patsy Pope; his son, Ryan Pope (Teah); his brother, Benny Pope (Stacy); his sisters, JoAnn Bell (Roy), Kaye Agler (Jack), and Lynne Pearce (Lowell); and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.Don was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Pope, and his stepmother, Ruby Joyce Pope.His legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
