Tom was an active and faithful member of his church family, where he served as a deacon at Bayou Sara Baptist Church for over 40 years. His faith in Jesus guided his life, and he was always willing to serve others with humility and compassion.
Tom dedicated his career to teaching science at the University of Mobile for 36 years, where he inspired countless students with his passion for learning and thoughtful approach to teaching. He took pride in helping others better understand the world around them.
Outside the classroom, Tom enjoyed traveling and had a deep appreciation for the arts and nature. He expressed his creativity through photography, drawing, and painting. He was also a devoted Auburn football fan and could strike up a conversation with anyone, especially if they were wearing Auburn colors. His friendliness and humor made strangers feel like friends.
Above all, Tom treasured his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and ability to connect with people wherever he went. His legacy lives on through his family, friends, students, and all who were fortunate to know him.
