Carolyn was born on January 21, 1936 in Mansfield, Ohio to Barclay and Mir-iam Herring. She went to school at Edgewood Prep School in New Jersey and received her degree in 1954. On July 11, 1958 she married the love of her life, Larry Keckler. Together, they raised four children.
She had a passion for anything outdoors which led them to move to Sarasota in 1972 to enjoy the things she loved most; boating, sunning, shelling on the beach, mowing, gardening and tennis. She was very creative. She loved making shell mirrors from her finds shelling on Siesta Key beach and Casey Key. If you had her over to your house and went to the bathroom, your whole living room would be rearranged and you would be left to wonder, why didn’t I think of that?
Carolyn was known for her infectious smile, quick wit, and fun loving antics. She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord above all else.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, father, and sister Barbara. She is survived by her husband Larry Keckler, sister Annette Schultz (Spokane WA), four children, Jerry (St. Petersburg), Laura (Sarasota), Chip (wife Vicky, Trinity) and Andy (wife Mary, Sarasota) Grandchildren, Jeremy Keckler (wife Carissa), Travis McMillen (wife Amber), Kelsi McMillen Rogers (husband Ty-ler) Brad McMillen and several great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed, but we know we will reunited one glorious day.
