Dorothy Lee Hannon, 84, of Sarasota, FL formerly of Lonaconing, MD was carried away by angels on Aug. 9. 2015. She was born Feb. 14, 1931 in Lonaconing, MD. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother and her family gave her the greatest joy. Her life was the epitome of courage and strength. We will love and forever miss her spirit, compassion, and laughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Hannon; her siblings Eleanor M. Hanson, Julia F. Frizzell, Gustave N. Frizzell, and Floyd N. Frizzell, Jr. Her survivors include her children, Bobbi Hannon, Lee Hannon, Robin Turner (David), Meg VanFleet (Perry), Bill Hannon (Carrie Mann) all of Sarasota; grandchildren, Megan (Bennett) , Richard of Las Vegas, NV, Christopher (Jackie), Matthew, Bradley of Orlando, FL, Corey of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Alexander, Garrett and one great-grandchild Jonathan; her sisters Margaret Metz of Arvada, CO and Barbara Hunt of Winchester, VA. A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home, 7454 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL.. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
