Elizabeth fondly known as Liz was born February 16, 1929 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of Howard Ray Allshouse and Eleanor Virginia Corrigan Allshouse.
She was a graduate of Campbell Memorial High School which prepared her for her work as a secretary for the the insurance industry and Western Reserve Transit Authority.
In 1953 Elizabeth married Nicholas Joseph Paparodis sharing a wonderful marriage of 67 years. Their love raised three children William, Brian and Robin.
Elizabeth chose to be a stay at home mother to her children always involved as the Scout Den Mother, Parent Teacher Association President, Dance Mom and sideline sports fan. Liz was a a lifelong bowler, golfer, and enjoyed attending major professional sporting events. Her love for the arts and theatre took her and Nicholas to travel worldwide to performances and museums. They were able to travel and cruise to destinations they always dreamed. She was a master at embroidery loved crafting and belonged to several Garden Clubs. She was an avid bridge and card player winning many tournaments with her beloved Nick.
At the age of 43 Liz was diagnosed with Breast cancer. After treatment along with her Doctor and the Cancer Society she was instrumental in the start of the the Reach to Recovery Program in Youngstown, OH. Over the next ten years
she helped many women and men recover from surgeries in there homes. She
taught classes and the importance of prescreening at schools, social clubs and for the cancer society. She was honored by the National Cancer Society in 1980 for her courageous own battle and support of others battling cancer.
At the age of 89 her cancer returned and she once again fought the battle and won. This past January her cancer returned for a third time.
Elizabeth will be remembered for her devoted love of her family, wisdom and courage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Irene, brother John and her beloved husband Nicholas Joseph Paparodis.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, William (Nancy) Paparodis of Poland, OH,
Brian Paparodis of Palmetto FL and Robin Eisenbrei (Keith) of Sarasota, FL.
Grandchildren Tiffany Tokar, Michael Paparodis, Stacy (Thomas) Wick and William (Alaina) Paparodis in OH.,Candice (Richard) Babusiak of NC, Nicholas Paparodis of Oviedo, FL and 12 Great Grandchildren.
Elizabeth will be joining her husband at Sarasota National Cemetery with a memorial service on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 11:00 am at the cemetery.
