George was a really special person to Me in Sarasota. I used to always be able to go over to his trailer and hang out and talk about God and things. Him and Howie were always there. I enjoyed his company very much, even being the company of a Jew! I really love the Jewish people, and George was an influence on My life. I will always remember the good times We shared. He loved to talk about things. Anyway, the other day it began to snow, and I looked at the snow, and it was little star shapes like those of Israel. Then I went into a place, and came out, and around the corner was a Hanukkah activity box, so I guess I am doing a little celebrating. I hope to see him in heaven or in this life again in some other way.

I am in my mid 50's and I knew George when I was a girl. He was my neighbor; I remember him working at a steak house.  We lived on 3rd street, in Sarasota, in the mid to late 70's in a house that had two apartments. My mom, sister and I lived in the front and George lived in the back. He would occasionally keep an eye on my sister and I when mom would work late. He even supervised a birthday party once  until she got home. I have fond memories of George. I've thought about him often. I couldn't remember his last name until this week when my mother and I were talking about him and the good times we had there; at that place. It is truly a shame that I found him too late. I would loved to have talked to him again; but this time as an adult. :)  My mom and I remember him as a good guy. Someone you could trust and talk to. I know mom confided in him about things that were going on in our world. I want to  imagine that he had lots of friends and family who loved him dearly and will miss him terribly. My heart breaks for you. I will forever hold onto the wonderful memories I have of George and look forward to seeing him again someday. Goodbye George Havas. You have always held a special place in my heart.

I very much look forward to seeing you again, in Paradise; a place where laughter, wit, a good story, and unconditional love are unceasing and unprecedented.
