Loy, Gordon K, died peacefully on July 21, 2016. He was born in Omaha, NE and moved to Sarasota in 1960. It was there he met the love of his life, Jo Ann. He was an Army Veteran. He worked as a Pharmacist for 40 years. He touched many lives over his pharmacy counter. He was a member of the Sarasota Chorus of the Keys for 50 years and their director for 8. He will be remembered as a natural entertainer who loved making people happy. He never met a stranger. He also served as the Kiltie Band Booster club President in 1980-81. Loving retirement he and Jo Ann got to share their love of travel and saw most of the world. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years Jo Ann, daughter Christine of Tampa, son-in-law Kenneth, and grandchildren Robert and Olivia. The family would like to thank the Church of the Palms for their support during Gordon’s final days and Tidewell Hospice House and staff. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 29 at 2pm at Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice House.
