Grace T Autera

It is with great sadness that the family of Grace Autera announce her passing in Sarasota, Florida on February 7, 2026 at the age of 92. Our beloved Grace was born in September 1933 in the Bronx, NY to Nicholas and Connie Catania. She is survived by her sister Marilyn, brother-in-law Sal, children Lisa, Joseph and Susan, grandchildren Matthew and Summer Strickland, great grandchildren Austin Michael and Charlie Grace Strickland. She was predeceased by her husband Joe and sister Virginia.

Grace met and married the love of her life and beloved husband, Joe whom she was married to for 66 years. As a homemaker, Grace was dedicated to looking after her family. Grace also enjoyed meeting her friends at the Women's Club of White Plains, NY, preparing wonderful meals everyday for her family, she loved dogs, bowling and travel. Her radiant smile would light up any room and she was known for her light hearted spirit, kindness and humor.

After raising their family, Grace and Joe moved from White Plains, NY to Sarasota, Florida where they enjoyed their retirement years spending time with their grandchildren and new friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 425 S. Tamiami Trail, Osprey, FL 34229.

A memorial luncheon reception will immediately follow at the church. Inurnment will be in Sarasota National Cemetery 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241 at 2:30 PM.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Grace's caregivers, Salome, Connie, Lourdes and Diane for their dedication to Grace's care over these last 7 years. Their attention to her was caring and compassionate and we are extremely grateful to them.

Memorial donations in Grace's memory may be made to Affinity Hospice, or to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
