John was born on July 24, 1935, in Pawnee, Illinois; he was the son of William Springer Minder and Mary Ellen Fitzsimmons Minder. John proudly served in the US Army.
John owned and operated Minder & Associates Engineering Corporation. He was a registered Professional Engineer and a registered Professional Surveyor & Mapper for over 40 years.
John graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus service organization.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Joseph Minder, James Minder, William (Skip) Minder and sisters Jane Barry, Barbara Adcock and Anne Minder. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn L Unser Minder and his children: David (Tee), Greg (Leslie), Sheila and Lisa; granddaughters Bella and Olivia; many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be at Robert Toale and Sons Wiegand Chapel (7454 S Tamiami Trail Sarasota, Fl 34231) on Monday, October 26th, 2026, from 5 pm to 7 pm. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel (425 S Tamiami Trail, Osprey, Florida 34229) on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 10am. Followed by burial at Sarasota National Cemetery at 1:30 PM (9810 State Route 72, Sarasota, FL 34241).
