Not many patients in my 30 years of working have touched me like JW.  I was able to enjoy 12 years of knowing this kind and loving man. He was not only my “favorite “ patient but one the whole office fell in love with.  A tough, honest man with a huge heart and a cute little smile I will never forget. RIP my friend. 💔

I have fond memories of my visits with JW and Linda in their home and at family gatherings.  In 1972, JW and Linda took me with them to visit JW's parents, John and Polly Stewart, at their home in the Alabama countryside.  What a great time we had:  I followed John through the woods to cut down a Christmas tree and JW, Linda, Polly and I decorated that freshly chopped down tree on Christmas Eve. JW was a kind soul who shared his family with others.  He dearly loved Linda and Marco.  God rest his soul.

What a nice neighbor!  We shared food with each other.  He introduced us to his Louisiana recipes.  Will miss him!  Enjoyed listening to his life stories.  Rest In Peace JW. 

My Father was a true inspiration to me and not just because he was my Father.  I was adopted by J.W. and Linda Stewart when I was only months old.  I was an adopted only child and I quickly became very accustom to  the "Fringe Benefits" of having no brothers or sisters, therefore being the absolute center of attention at all times lol.    In lieu of this however, my Father instructed me on such things like how to fish, how to hunt, and how to grill a perfect steak.  He also taught me compassion , kindness and patience.  He showed me integrity,  and generosity, and why hard work is important.  

I guess I figured that he was my father and that was his job and he only offered these learning opportunities to me alone. Apparently,  I under estimated him.   

I have never seen such an overwhelming network of support reach out to my family on behalf of my Father.  I've already heard countless stories about how he made a difference in so many people's lives beside just my own.  After hearing these stories, I realized that JW wasn't just telling me these things when I was young, he was indeed living these same principles  he taught me this whole time.  

Going forward, I very much hope I can help someone else, the way my Father helped me. 

RIP Dad.  We all love you.

I was so very sorry to hear of your great loss and that our JW got his last call.  What a great friend was he to me and my family.  We will miss him so very much.  Part of coming down to Florida for us was spending time with him and DD and, of course, Ezra.

Please know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I hope it is of some comfort to know that others really care.
