Lanaya Jean Hurlbut

Born on September 1, 1935, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Lanaya lived in Piedmont, South Carolina.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Lanaya Hurlbut, who departed this life on October 10, 2026, at the age of 91.

Lanaya lived in Venice, Florida, since the 1980s, making it her home for many decades. In 2025, she moved to Greenville, South Carolina, beginning a new chapter of her life closer to family.

She leaves behind her loving children, Fred, Steve, and Alison, who will forever cherish her memory. Her legacy of family and love continues through her grandchildren, Zach and Tyler Wright, and her great-grandchild, Ryker Wright, who will carry her memory in their hearts for generations to come.

Though her passing leaves a deep void in the lives of those who loved her, the memories she leaves behind will remain a lasting source of comfort. Her life was an important part of her family’s story, and she will always be remembered with love, tenderness, and gratitude.

As we say goodbye to our beloved Lanaya, we find comfort in our faith and the hope of eternal peace. May the Lord welcome her into His heavenly kingdom, surround her with His everlasting love, and grant comfort and strength to all who mourn her loss.

Final Resting Place

Lanaya’s ashes will be kept in Pickens, South Carolina, where her memory will continue to be honored by those who hold her dear.
