Rita Bolton, 90, passed away on July 10, 2024 in Sarasota Florida. Originally from Rector Arkansas, she moved with her family to Pontiac Michigan where she graduated from Pontiac high school in 1951. She married Carl Bolton in 1952 and they moved to Converse Indiana in 1957 where they raised two sons, Jody and Jeff. Her and Carl were very active in Eastern Star and they were the “Mom and Pop” for the Rainbow girls for many years.
In retirement they RV’d all over the US and Canada and spent several summers “work camping” in Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, and the Sawtooth mountains of Idaho. They finally settled in Osprey Florida.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Carl, her parents Sid and Zelma Thomas, her sister Louise Beckley, her brother Windy Thomas, and an infant son Luke.
She is survived by her sons, Jody Bolton of Osprey Florida and Jeff (Sue) Bolton of Clayton North Carolina, 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was always the “instigator” of a good time and will be missed by all.
