

Louis Bevilacqua, age 76 died on October 6th, 2015 after a long bout with cancer in the loving care of his wife Roberta. He is survived by his children, Charles and wife Erica, James and wife Constance, Robin and husband Jesse, as well as three wonderful granddaughters, Nora, Abbie, and Emma, his sister Josephine and husband Brian, and brother Anthony and wife Pamela. Louis was born in Newark, NJ and received a bachelors degree in engineering from Cornell University. He did graduate work at Columbia University and received a Master of Engineering from Northeastern University. He spent his career at General Electric Aviation, first in turbine design engineering and then in senior management of the global jet engine business. Louis retired in 1999 to Longboat Key, FL to pursue hobbies including study of public policy and physics, fishing, and exotic cars. He enjoyed collecting cars, concourse judging, rallies, tours, and track days. He had a full, happy, and satisfying life. Visitation and prayer service will be at the Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home, 7454 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota from 4-6PM on October 11, 2015. Burial ceremonies will be held at the Palms Robart Cemetery at 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota at noon on Monday October 12, 2015.
