Marcia graduated from Galion High School, attended Capital University in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Columbus Business School. She married her husband, Garry, in 1960. The first year of her marriage, Marcia was employed as a personal secretary to a lawyer. When her daughter Marci was born, she made the decision to cease working and raise her child. She did the same for her son, Steven, who was born later. Both of her children have had great success in their lives. Marcia’s love and care obviously contributed to that success.
Marcia was a woman of many talents. Her secretarial skills were excellent. She could knit, sew and crochet. She also had a wonderful singing voice. When she lived in Westerville, Ohio, she joined a group of women called’ “Song Spinners.” They put on concerts twice a year. Marcia was often featured in several of their productions. She had a flair for interior design. With no formal training, she decorated her home beautifully. Many of her guests would ask her, “Who did your decorating.” And she could cook, much to the delight of her husband and her dinner guests. Her husband quite often said, “When I dine at home, I am dining at a fine restaurant.”
Marcia’s desire to make things beautiful applied to her personal appearance. When she put on a dress, added a couple pieces of her jewelry, applied her makeup, and did her hair, she was the personification of beauty and class. Her husband gave her the nickname, “Sparkle Plenty”. When Marcia passed away, this world lost a bit of its sparkle.
