

Eldest of nine children born to the late James and Jeannette (nee Jamison) Monroe of Pittsburgh, PA. She was the third consecutive generation of first-born female children all christened with a form of the name "Jeannette", starting with her grandmother, Mary Jeannette Stiehl Jamison.
Jean grew up on Pittsburgh's East End, residing in the Morningside neighborhood from 1940. After graduating from Peabody High School in East Liberty, Jean worked as a bookkeeper for Harris Amusement Company's Ice Capades in Oakland and later for the Edwin L. Wiegand Company in Homewood.
Jean married Urban Boeh on November 6, 1948, at St. Raphael's Church, Morningside, and raised five children in suburban Pittsburgh.
In 1978, Jean and Urban moved to Tennessee, remaining there for 35 years. Jean briefly worked for Cain-Sloan Department store in downtown Nashville, before starting a new career with the State of Tennessee's Child Support Services Division. After Urban's death, Jean relocated to Sarasota County, Florida, and kept a quite active lifestyle into her early 90's.
Throughout the years, Jean traveled extensively, starting as a youth when she spent her summers with Stiehl relatives in Ohio, to later years when she flew or cruised to numerous countries. She had a strong love of the performing arts and attended several hundred events during her decade-plus residence in Florida. Jean also loved spending time with her family and attending family outings. She was a former member of Epiphany Cathedral Parish and the Venice Senior Friendship Center.
In addition to her spouse, Jean was predeceased by her son, Edward, and siblings Lois, Eileen, James, Thomas, Edward, Jack and Robert. She is survived by her children Michael (Annie) Boeh, Audrey (David) Benneyworth and Lauren (Chris) Cooper, all of Tennessee; daughter Barbara (John) Kralik of Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Madelyn.
The body has been cremated with later inurnment at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Sharpsburg, PA. Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home, 7454 Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL in charge of arrangements.
