Mary Ballard Edington
September 30, 1942 – April 14, 2018
Mary B. Edington loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother passed away suddenly on the morning of April 14th, 2018 in Lakewood Ranch, FL. Her life began in Mobile Al ,before moving to Punta Gorda, FL and ultimately Venice, FL where she graduated from Venice High School. She then lived in Sarasota, FL, before moving to Brownsville Texas where she lived with her husband Randy and two children. While in Texas she founded a business and was heavily involved in the local arts and The Gladys Porter Zoo. Mary began painting at the very young age of 6. She progressed into an amateur artist and later as a professional artist, in Brownsville Texas, where her paintings were purchased and prominently displayed in various private residences and financial institutions. She was also the chief designer and interior decorator of the Brownsville Museum of Fine Art. Mary returned to Sarasota FL, as a full time resident, in 2010. Mary always was thinking of everyone but herself and, therefore, always placed her family’s needs before her own. She loved the outdoors, viewing wildlife and all of nature’s beauty. She especially enjoyed watching golf, as well as Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Mary touched the lives of so many and will be deeply missed. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Father, and two Brothers. She is survived by her husband Randy Edington, daughter Ashley, son Jeff, daughter in law Gabi, granddaughter Gigi, sisters Frances and Jane and her beloved parrot Loco. A private family burial will take place Thursday, April 19th, where she will be laid to rest next her parents, Wade and Allene Ballard. .
