

Merle Yalowitz, originally of Memphis, Tennessee and a ten-year resident of Venice, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 7, 2025. A devoted wife, and mother of three, Merle’s loss is mourned by her husband Chuck Yalowitz, her sons Joshua, Joel, and Neil, and their families.
Merle was born to Maurice and Ida Fink and raised in Memphis. She attended White Station High School and college at Purdue University, where she met Chuck. They were married in 1968, and were still lovingly married until her passing. Merle also attended East Tennessee State University, earning her Master’s degree in Education. Her training supported a career as a private contractor providing disability psychological testing services and student psychological evaluations.
Merle was a lover of life, cooking, travel, and animals. She loved games such as mah-jongg, bridge, and other card games. Merle was a fan of music and the theatre and was an avid reader. She contributed to the works of her favorite author proofreading novels prior to publication. Merle and Chuck supported their sons and families with all of their hearts, and they have two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Merle will be interred at the Memory Park of the Jewish Congregation of Venice and services will be held there at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 12.
She will be profoundly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
