Michael J. Fiala, 80, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away, Friday, October 28, 2016 in the company of his loving wife Barbara Fiala. Michael was born September 7, 1936 in Columbus, OH to Joseph and Mary (Garwood) Fiala. He graduated from Iona College in 1959, summa cum laude. On October 29, 1960 he married the former Barbara Hurd in White Plains, NY. Michael served in the National Guard. He was employed as a sales representative for Dun & Bradstreet Corporation for more than 25 years. He was a loving husband and devoted father and greatly enjoyed spending time with his family. Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Barbara Fiala of Sarasota, FL, his brother Anthony Fiala of Sarasota, FL, his daughter Jeanne Jacobs and husband Malcolm Jacobs of New Bern, NC, his son Larry Fiala of Haverstraw, NY, his son Matthew Fiala of Bradenton, FL, his son Thomas Fiala and wife Anne-Marie Fiala of Chevy Chase, MD, his son David Fiala of New York, NY, his daughter-in-law Alice Fiala of Rocky Hill, CT, and his eight grandchildren.
