
Captain Richard A. Nutter was born on September 25, 1949 and passed away on February 18, 2016 at the age of 66 years old. He married his high school sweetheart, Diane Hall, in 1968. He retired from FPL and then became a licensed Charter Captain fishing the waters he had fished growing up as a child and young adult. He was very involved in the boating and fishing community in Sarasota and served on several committees, including the tag and release of different species of fish. He was well respected and known in the community for his boating and fishing expertise, as well as his sought after artistic talent in taxidermy mounts for saltwater fish. He was involved in establishing local memorial reefs for local fisherman and involved in charity fishing tournaments for the disabled and autistic. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2003 and fought a long battle like the the several Marlins he had caught. He is survived by his wife, Diane; two daughters, Deana Nutter and Gail Aker and son-in-law, Dusty Aker and his two grandchildren, Chloe and Carson Aker; his parents, Irving and Jeanne Nutter; and his two brothers, Bill and Steve Nutter. His "Celebration of Life" will be on April 2, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.at the Sarasota Outboard Club located 1604 Thompson Pkwy in Sarasota, Florida.
