It’s been two years and I still miss him every day! They just don’t make people like Bob anymore! He was a one of A kind! Had the biggest heart out of anybody I’ve ever met, always wanting to give to others and teach the right way of life! This is a day I’ll never forget! Still praying for you and your family every single day till the end! Thank you for being an amazing friend and human being! I will definitely miss you forever!

I was so shocked to hear he passed away. Bob was my work dad. He treated me just like a daughter and I could always count on him and he was always the funniest and nicest person. Publix will never be the same without him telling us stories about his life and passions. He will truly be missed! 

So sad to learn of Bob's passing. When my husband Ed was recovering from heart surgery Bob visited and prayed with him. And he was such a dear friend of our son-in-law Louis. May Bob's memory be for a blessing. Harriet Safran

My name is Kim I meet Bob a few years ago out at the big cat in the petting zoo  we would take care of the goats and talk about life then he started feeding the cats and I knew he liked it but he still asked me if I would be ok by myself in the petting zoo  he always stopped by at the end of the day to check on the goats and I  chewy and I will miss seeing him every week 

I have know Bob since he moved here to Sarasota in 1974. We met at Publix and became good friends. We bowled together for many years.  Bob, friends and I went to many Bucs and Bear games. Worked with Bob at Specialty Foods and  have memories of golf and meeting  over the times. he was always able to bring you up when down and always had a great story to tell. I will miss him and know that he is in good hands. God Bless Kathy and the family.  

Well my Brother we had over 50 years together sharing all life had to offer. From Rockford to Bowen, to Salt lake City and Florida, we always were there for each other. Just as we grew up together so did our families, sharing vacations and visits annually. Over hundreds of rounds of golf and cribbage games, and maybe a few beers, the good times kept coming. It was an honor to serve as Best Man at your wedding to Cathy. Your kindness and concern for others was unmatched, your infectious smile and deep laugh was always there to cheer up others.  You left the world a better place, and God truly has one heck of a co-pilot now.  Peace be with you Brother, and my sincere condolences to Cathy, Justin and Brandon.

I first met Bob in 2011 when he started working at Publix as our Liquor Specialist at the Landings. At the time I was just a young clerk with limited knowledge. I learned a lot from him over the years I worked with him. Despite my stubbornness causing us to clash a few times, he was someone I knew I could come to with questions. Even after he moved stores, I still called or texted him for help on occasion. My deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to out to his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.

My memory of Bob was the great time we had on a company Don Q trip to Puerto Rico. We Golfed and had a lot of laughs because I was so bad that day! 
I'll always remember that Bob was always a kind hearted person and will miss our talks together.  He will certainly be missed by all that knew him.

in December of 1999, i wanted nothing more than to have fun with my close friends, and party on New Years  like , well, it was 1999.  My mother was not okay with letting her 14 year old son party with other young adults/Kids.  i remember being so upset after receiving this info while at the White House.
Bob took notice of my phone call, and sat down with me, asked what was wrong, and listened to my teenage angst and frustration.
.  
Then He spoke to me like a Man…and explained that being a parent was one of the hardest things in the world to do.  And Keeping their Children safe was ‘Rule Number One’.  As i wiped my crocodile tears from my eyes.…i snuck Bob a one-armed bro-Hug.  Cathy and Bob told me that they  understood why i was upset, but everything will work out just fine.  

He was there for me, even when he could have just rolled his eyes at a bratty teenager.

In Bob’s view, i’m sure it was just a small gesture to listen to a whiny friend of his Sons,  but he still took the time, respected my feelings, and then told me how it was with his calming cadence, and kind, half-smile.    

i will never forget that day, or many other days with Mr. White.   I Will Miss you , Friend.   thanks for being you.  I will never forget your kindness.

Bob was a great neighbor and a great Cubs Fan.  He was rewarded with a Cubs World Series win in 2016.

Another fond memory was Bob walking down our tree branch littered street the morning after Hurricane Irma, with fresh coffee for his neighbors.

I was lucky enough to grow up around the White family and spent a lot of time at their house, the pool, the beach, on vacations, at baseball card shops and at the ball fields. Nicknames were part of the fun and ones that I will never forget: Pipe-Spike-Moose-Alph-Stumpy. Bob was my coach for t-ball and forever remains as Coach Bob. He was the kind of guy that you listened to and respected because of the way he spoke and meant every word. I think that's why he was such a great coach, friend, dad and husband. I have so many memories of Bob but one that I will forever cherish was when we visited Bob and Cathy in 2014 with my oldest daughter Cora, who was 1 at the time. Cora wouldn't let anyone hold her outside of her mom and I, but when we introduced her to Bob she gave him a big hug and snuggled with him for quite a while. If that's not a sign of a loving soul then I don't know what is. My heart goes out to Cathy, Justin and Brandon. Our family grieves with you and sends you all love and prayers. Until we meet again Coach.

Will always treasure the memories of riding in his white Corvette through Page Park during our Senior Year! I was lucky to be able to reconnect with him recently on Facebook and am glad I had the opportunity to know such a loving soul. Will love and miss you always my friend ❤️  

Hi my name is Billy Ray and I was Bob’s store manager for Publix at Centergate . I had the pleasure of meeting Bob back when he was a wine vendor before he  became a liquor specialist for Publix. He was was well known for his wine experience and still had a passion to be in charge of our wine aisle. My team and I are we’re very saddened and shocked when Cathy called and gave me the news. I will miss our morning conversations about life and whatever he had going on for the week.  Bob had a passion for volunteering his time on the farm and Big Cat Habitat….Bob was a kind and loving soul willing to help anyone in need and being a mentor to many of our younger associates.  He will be truly missed but we  will have his memories and until we meet again my friend.

Coach Bob! Thats how he is always known to my boys and husband. When Justin & Brandon were young he & Tim coached them with our 3 boys until the boys moved on to other sports in middle school. Our families were together often for many summer vacations to cabins in NC , camping, Disney, and more. Cathy is a sister to me, Im grateful to have a full week visiting them last month. My son Jake told me last night, “Bob was like a second Dad to me , he had the powerful positive influence on our own Dad, a true close friend!” Jon chose Bob to be his Confirmation sponsor when he was 13 as his influence of the Holy Spirit was in everything he gave to others. Christopher was just a toddler when he met Bob but grew to love him equally as his brothers did.

Bob and I have known each other for quite some time,. We both worked for Keebler, National Distributing and we both ran Publix Liquor Stores. We developed a wonderful friendship! Our wives also became good friends. We all enjoyed our times together.We had a lot of similar interest, The Gators, Emu Oil, competitive pumpkin rolling, The Shadow of the Bear or just setting down talking and enjoying a glass of red wine!  There  is a huge hole in my heart! Until we meet again my friend! Peace and Love.

I was so sad to hear of Bob's passing! He always used to greet me when he came into Publix to grab stuff for the liquor store! I had just spoke with him this past week when he walked by my register.We'll miss him dearly.

I met Bob at Publix and found out we both liked to play poker.  He quickly became a beloved member of our group, bringing such a positive spirit and good humor.  We will all miss him dearly and wish nothing but peace and comfort to the family.
