Soundiah Selvaraj

Dr. Soundiah Selvaraj, age 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his home in Venice, Florida. Born in Periyekulam, Tamil Nadu, India, he was the son of Soundiah and Veerammal. He attended Loyola College in Chennai, then continued his education at Madurai Medical College. He later worked teaching Internal Medicine, and in private practice, at Lutheran Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Selvaraj was a devoted father, husband, and friend. He enjoyed reading, traveling, playing tennis and basketball, and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his wit, compassion, and dedication to his patients and loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karthiyayini, his children Prakash (Rajakumari) and Suji (Ravi), and grandchildren Amrit, Priyanya, Jyothi, Rithik, Arya and Dhara. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home 7454 South Tamiami Trail Sarasota, FL 34231 The visitation will be held from 11:00 am to the time of the service.
