

Former Kennet Square resident, Vincent Anthony Varone, 76, died March 20, 2023, at The Inn at Sarasota Bay, Sarasota, FL. Mr. Varone was born October 8, 1946, in Norristown, PA, to Anthony and Mary (Raffeo) Varone.
He attended Bishop Kenrick High School, and graduated from Norristown High School. He had a long and illustrious career with Sears, spanning 39 years, before his retirement in 2007. He began his career as a sales associate in menswear and eventually became the store manager of one of the largest volume stores in the company. He was loved and admired by all his coworkers who he coached and mentored along the way.
He enjoyed his charity work with the United Way and numerous other charities during his career. His proudest moments and fondest memories, which he liked to talk about, was his involvement with our now President Joe Biden. They worked together through Sears to provide for those in need in the Wilmington, DE area.
He was a devoted father and husband and is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rosemary; daughters, Karen L. Varone and husband Ryan Taylor of Sarasota, Stacey L. Dougherty and husband Chris of Wilmington, DE, and Amanda W. Varone of West Chester, PA., grandsons, Bryson and Brady Taylor, Dominic Vincent Varone, and granddaughter Blaire Marie Dougherty.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tidewell Hospice or the Senior Friendship Center, Sarasota.
