
Virginia A. Wetmore, 96, died on July 4, 2015. A Memorial Service will be held in the Westminster Towers Chapel in Bradenton, Florida, at 2pm on July 25, 2015. Her ashes will be buried in a separate service in South Lyon, Michigan. Virginia was born February 23, 1919, in New Hudson, Michigan, to Forrist and Lulu Harding. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University and taught high school before marrying Joseph Wetmore on June 20, 1942. They refurbished a 100 year old home in South Lyon, Michigan, where they began raising 4 children. They moved to Delaware, Ohio, in 1956 where Joseph was a Professor at Ohio Wesleyan University and Virginia was an active member of the American Association of University Women. Virginia was also active in the Girl Scouts for 18 years, first as a Girl Scout and later as a TrooopLeader. Virginia and Joseph retired to Bradenton, Florida, in 1979 where they enjoyed visits from their 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Virginia became an avid artist with a particular talent for water color painting. Joseph died in 1998 and Virginia moved to Westminster Towers in 2000. She is survived by her son Joseph Jr. and his wife Pat, her son Kenneth and his wife Dawn, her son Richard and his wife Janis, and her daughter Sally Overmier and her husband Doug.
