Agnes Boyd Smiley

Agnes was born December 8, 1923 in Ballynahinch, County Down, Ireland, to Charles and Mary Smiley. She passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025 at the age of 101 years at Prairie Springs Care Home in Saskatoon, SK, Canada.

She came to Canada in 1949 where she began in the ministry in SK .

She spent the rest of her life in that work, mostly in SK but also in Japan. When she was no longer able, she resided at JJ Thiessen Silvergrove Personal Care Home in Saskatoon, from Sept 2018 to February 2025 and then at Prairie Springs Care Home to her passing .

Agnes leaves to mourn her passing her sister, Meta (Margaret) Malone in Ireland,

nieces and nephews and their families in Ireland and Australia; many fellow-labourers in the ministry around the world, and a multitude of friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Mary Smiley; her brothers, John and William; her sisters-in-law, Mary and Rachael; and brother-in-law, Gerald Malone.

Special thanks goes to Emina and the caring staff at JJ Thiessen who so lovingly cared for Agnes for seven years, and to Drew, Wendi, and the staff at Prairie Springs Care Home who provided her with excellent , compassionate care in her last days.

The funeral service for Agnes will be held Thursday, April 24,2025 12:30 pm at Mourning Glory Acadia-Mckague's Funeral Centre, 915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. (306) 955-1600
