Alan James William Ludwig was the first born of Leona Ludwig (Glabus) and John Joseph Ludwig. Born of a butchers son, and grandson, he was taught the family business and carried on in the tradition of Butcher. Alan played trumpet in high school and won two music competitions. Leaving home at the age of 17, he perused his career as Butcher across many provinces and States. One location, Churchill, MB. is where he met Maria Spence and married and had 2 sons, Alan Jr. and Francis Ludwig. While he is not married anymore, Alan Sr. dedicated his life to raising his two sons as a single parent. His love and dedication to his sons are his greatest achievement. Alan Sr. has had his health struggles, and had retired from Butchering earlier in his life but continued to enjoy free time with visits from his Sons, painting figurines, watching movies and playing video games. Such a character Alan Sr. was, he loved to joke around and was a kid at heart. He found a special place in his heart for his sons dog, Peaches. He will be sorely missed by his sons, as they meant the world to him and vice versa.
He was predeceased by his mother, Leona Ludwig, and his father John Ludwig, and survived by his sons Alan Spence (Ludwig Jr.) and Francis Ludwig, his sister Carole Tokaruk, brother in law Brian Tokaruk, brother Pat Ludwig, sister in law Judy Ludwig, Aunt Hilda Reynolds, Aunt Joan Janner, Uncle Ed Janner, Aunt Christina Ludwig and numerous Nephews, Nieces and cousins.
