Albert Douglas Frederick Porter

March 13, 1922 – January 6, 2012

It is with great sadness that the family of Albert (Bert) Porter announce his sudden passing on Friday January 6th, 2012 at St. Paul’s Hospital at the age of 89 years. Bert leaves to mourn his son Raymond Porter, his three grand children Charity, Rae Ann and Aaron and two great grand children Kiegan and Blair, his brother Ogden (Helen) Porter and his sister Gwladys (Edward) Huard from Haileybury, Ontario, and his sister-in-law Berna Johnson from Perdue as well as numerous nieces, nephews, close friends and neighbours. He was predeceased by his loving wife LaVaun, his parents Kate and Fred, his mother and father-in-law Alice and Almer Johnson, his brother-in-law Marshall Johnson and daughter-in-law Brenda Porter. A celebration of Bert’s life will be held on Wednesday January 11, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion #196 in Perdue SK (Main Street) with Rev. Joan Brown officiating. Interment with follow at theWheatfield Cemetery. The family asks that in place of flowers donations be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or to The Saskatoon Cancer Centre.
